Prime Minister Masrour Barzani welcomed Iraqi Federal Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani at Erbil International Airport on November 13.

The Federal Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of forming a new Kurdistan Regional Government cabinet to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the regional and federal governments.

The meeting covered several key issues, including the Kurdistan Region’s share of the federal budget for salaries, the resumption of Kurdistan oil exports, and preparations for Iraq’s national census.

Regarding the issue of salaries, the Kurdistan Prime Minister stressed that the Kurdistan salary disbursements should be kept separate from any political disagreements, in accordance with the ruling of Iraq’s Federal Supreme Court, similar to other regions in Iraq.

As for the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region, the parties emphasized the importance of restarting the export process as soon as possible, removing obstacles to ensure that the process benefits all residents of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
