Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with Thomas Seiler, the European Union Ambassador to Iraq, on September 3. The meeting was also attended by Radu Butum, Head of the EU Liaison Office in the Kurdistan Region.
The discussion focused on the KRG’s ongoing efforts in financial and banking sector reforms, including strategies to address corruption, reduce bureaucracy, and prevent the misuse of public resources. The meeting also covered the state of bilateral relations between the European Union and the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides agreed on the need to enhance cooperation in counterterrorism as part of broader regional security initiatives.
