Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received Austrian Ambassador to Iraq Andrea Nasi on January 8. They discussed the latest developments in Iraq and the Region and the development of bilateral relations.
The Prime Minister pointed to the long-standing and special relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Republic of Austria and the country’s support for the Kurdish people at different stages.
The Austrian Ambassador expressed his country’s desire to further develop relations with the Kurdistan Region and reaffirmed his support for the constitutional structure of the Kurdistan Region. Both sides agreed to protect the safety of diplomatic envoys in Iraq and continue their duties in order to maintain security and stability in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The Ambassador also met with President Nechirvan Barzani on the same day.
