Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met the Head of Kurdistan’s Environment Board Abdulrahman Sidiq.
The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of the environment as part of the ninth cabinet’s agenda whilst reiterating the promotion of environmentally-friendly measure, such as the global reduction of carbon emissions.
Mr. Sidiq briefed the Prime Minister on his team’s work and its cooperation with other government institutions. The Kurdistan Regional Government has taken serious steps towards environmental protection, especially by stopping oil field gas flaring and using excess gas to produce electricity.
Prime Minister Barzani added that the KRG has also reduced waste so as to limit pollution and the consequent damage to the environment.
