Earthquake Hit Kurdistan Region

An earthquake with 7.2 magnitude affected the Kurdistan Region in the south and east of Halabja. In Sulaimanya, Erbil and Duhok the earthquake had a lesser magnitude of 4.2. Nine civilians have lost their lives in the Kurdistan Region, 554 people are injured due to building collapse and the falling of objects. More than half of the injured people were discharged from hospitals and able to return to their homes. Nevertheless, the infrastructure of the Region, the supply of water and electricity, school buildings and residential houses were damaged and can not be used.
