According to the Ministry of Education, the Kurdistan Region shows a significant surge of individuals in schools. From 2012 to 2019 the number of teachers rose by 12%, while the number of students rose by 8%. Additionally, the number of children and educators in kindergartens show a record high in 2019. That year the Ministry counted 82900 children and 534 kindergarten institutions. The KRG remains dedicated to further increase educational teaching standards in the public sector. It aims to attract local and international investors into the education sector, helping to fund the building of new schools where they are needed.
